Features 10 individual blued barrels with round muzzles, all arranged in a circular format which rotates with the turning of a syncopated hand crank, firing each barrel in succession. Brass tubular frame with circular escutcheon on top reading: "Gatling's/Battery/Gun/Pat. Nov. 4. 1862/May 9, 1865/Feb. 28, 1871/Apr. 9, 1872/Made by Colt's/Pt. Fire Arms/Mfg. Co./Hartford, Conn./U.S.A." Blued steel outer frame, the right arbor marked: Thunder Valley Machine Co./Clinton, Ohio -U.S.A.-Chained trunnion straps. Rear of gun with center cascabel, side-mounted steel hand crank and range sight. Slide fed magazine. Mounted on a cast brass gimbel with elevation screw, seated on accompanying heavy metal tripod.
