Colt Model 1911A1 in 45ACP Semi Auto Pistol. Manufactured 1942. Markings: left side of receiver has Inspector mark, is WB inside a Box for Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg, Hartford/Springfield Ordnance District, Army Inspector of Ordnance: July 1, 1941 - June 16, 1942; the right side of the receiver has UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 U.S.ARMY & the No775165; there is a P proof on top of the slide forward of the rear sight; On the frame next to the disconnector it is stamped ordnance bomb and G government contract stamp; and the barrel is stamped COLT .45 AUTO with a P Proof Stamp on the left lug and a small "G" government contract stamp just forward of the lugs. The grips are possibly cut down aircraft windows used by many GI's to put girlfriend pictures, etc. under. Also included is an authentic US Military brown leather holster manufactured by the S-B CO.
